In this difficult time may this Devotional for Families proposal help you in good spiritual experiencing of the Holy Week

 

PALM SUNDAY – 5th April 2020

  • If it is possible – make your own Palm.
  • Read the Entrance to the Jerusalem and Passion of The Lord – Mt 21:1-54 (if it is possible read for voices – Jesus, narrator, individual voices, the crowd)
  • Make an Act of Spiritual Communion – “My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.”

MAUNDY THURSDAY – 9th April 2020

  • Put Last Supper picture (if you have) on a central place
  • Prepare supper for all household
  • Before you start Supper read the readings (1 Corinthians 11:23-26, John 13:1-15)
  • After Supper say your thanksgiving prayer for all you received from God
  • Make an Act of Spiritual Communion
  • or Watch Holy Mass on TV or livestreaming in the network

 

GOOD FRIDAY – 10th April 2020

  • Put a Cross on the table with two candles
  • During day celebrate Station of the Cross
  • At 3.00 p.m. read the passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ (John 18:1 – 19:42)
  • In silence adore Jesus’s Cross
  • Say a prayer for: Holy Church, Pope Francis, all orders and degrees of the faithful, catechumens, the unity of Christians, the Jewish people, those who do not believe in Christ, those who do not believe in God, those in public office, those in tribulation, all who find themselves in distress, for the sick and for the dead.
  • Make an Act of Spiritual Communion

EASTER VIGIL – 11th April 2020

  • After sundown light the candle symbolising Christ who dispels the darkness of the night.
  • Read the readings (Genesis 1:1-2:2; Exodus 14:15-15:1-6.17-18; Isaiah 55:1-11; Ezekiel 36:16-28; Romans 6:3-11; Mathew 28:1-10)
  • Make An Act of Confession (I confess…) and say The Creed (Missal Creed)
  • Make an Act of Spiritual Communion
  • or Watch Easter Vigil on TV or livestreaming in the network
  • before you go to bed cry out: ALLELUJA, ALLELUJA, ALLELUJA

 

EASTER SUNDAY – 12th April 2020

  • Before Breakfast read the Sunday Gospel (John 20:1-9)
  • Say an Easter Wishes to all form your household
  • Watch Easter Sunday Mass on TV or livestreaming in the network
  • Make an Act of Spiritual Communion
